Kim Harrigal
Kim has spent the majority of her career in leadership positions in early-mid stage tech startups in Pittsburgh. After starting her career on a DARPA-funded project building intelligent tutoring systems for Air Force technicians and Department of Defense high school students, she became one of the first 60 employees at FreeMarkets in 1998, obtaining two software patents on its reverse auction platform, where she was a software engineer and dev manager with the company until its sale to Ariba in 2004. Kim ran technical operations at invivodata from 2005-2011, whose product collected high-quality patient-reported data from participants in clinical drug trials spanning 60 countries in 6 continents. She then moved to First Insight, where as CTO, she extended its gaming and predictive analytics platforms and participated in strategic sales opportunities to help retailers and brand manufacturers make better product selection and pricing decisions. Kim has been a tech leader in the International Technology organization at Amazon since 2017. Kim is married with 2 kids, 19 and 17 years old, and enjoys spending any free time she has outside hiking, camping, boating, and skiing.
