2021 Sit With Me Annual RedChair Event Recap

This year’s Sit With Me event was unlike any other. Creativity in the Midst of Uncertainty featured 6 different mini-workshop sessions designed to spark creativity. Attendees moved in small groups from one experience to the next, giving them plenty of time to connect and get to know one another. We are convinced that many new meaningful connections were made!

In planning this event we felt it was so important to gather our community and amp up the FUN factor! It was a blast to see how much everyone enjoyed the 360 Video booth from ELF Entertainment and the light-up name tags we made with Evelyn from AssemblePgh. On a more serious note, we had help in becoming our best selves – Holly from Brave Women Project guided us through vision boards and Rachael from Back in the Game helped us with our morning affirmations – inspiration we all need after months of uncertainty. CGI was a fabulous host!

It was great to be in person again! Networking with colleagues within the STEM community of Pittsburgh was incredibly rewarding and enjoyable.

If there was ever a moment to see the power of brave women doing big things, it was “Sit With Me 2021”- Creativity in the Midst of Uncertainty requires bravery, and this was demonstrated by the impressive group of women in tech and allies present. I was proud to represent Brave Women Project in our interactive storytelling session, learning about the big things the attendees have in their history that helps them to be brave about the future. Sit With Me 2021 was an incredibly inspiring event. To join in conversation with such a diverse group–personally and professionally–was an experience that I will always treasure. I’m very grateful to have gotten to represent Back In The Game and empower the Sit With Me attendees in finding their unique strengths in order to help them be creative amidst uncertainty.
